Even if you're not a fan of intel, competition is ultimately always good for the consumer. I am kinda rooting for intel here.

As far as I can tell-- intel is required to have its own fabrication capability for "national security" reasons and you can be sure everything coming out of there will be backdoored for israeli intelligence services.

yes they will compete again but it will take years of development happens all the time it comes in waves. Problem is when you are making something it takes years so by the time it's released it's years behind so it will take 5 or more years to see anything close to what we have today if they're copying what is available so they need to literally reinvent the wheel and go hard for an big upgrade for them to stand a chance. Sadly they got stuck in a rut since they figured oh ryzen wouldn't catch up to us for years not only did they do that they blew past them.

I Have always been a team red user since K6-2. Lately i am looking to buy a new mobo and cpu and i am falling on Intel for the first time ever. reason??? BECAUSE IT S FREAKING IMPOSSIBLE TO BUY A RYZEN 5 5600X!!!!!!!!!!!!! 300 QUID in the UK! I can get a 10400F for 99 quick and save the bucks to splash on a decent GPU when are available. With Intel there is no shortage of cpus as they dont outsource...please dont applaude outsourcing as so far it has not helped anyone but scalpers

What can we expect from Intel, 14nm ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ to the 10th power. On the bright side for Intel the fact that all their CPU's have integrated graphics during a GPU shortage will help them move units. Hell even I've thought of doing that to build a home theater PC because GPU prices are nuts. I'm just glad I got my 2070 super when I did last year. It likes running games with the 5800X in it.

If the USA and NATO-member EU nations' private semiconductor design and manufacturing corporations all decide to go "fabless" and outsource 100% of their semiconductor manufacturing to places like Taiwan (which is at risk of being invaded and annexed by China) and now even more scarily, China itself, then should a major conflict erupt between NATO nations and their allied Asian nations against Chinese aggression in the Pacific then the Western democratic nations could find themselves unable to manufacture the millions and millions of advanced semiconductor required for their domestic tech infrastructure, logistics systems, digital networks, and military technology and weapons systems like fighter jets, smart munitions, sensors, and so on. Also, every time a country like the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Taiwan, or South Korea provides detailed schematics, blueprints, and manufacturing technology details to "private" (state-owned) manufacturers in China, I guarantee you that the Chinese government and military officials always make complete copies of all of that detailed technological information and assign their nation's best and brightest scientists and engineers to study all of it and reverse engineer as much of it as possible. The world should not be willingly offering up advanced technology with massive financial and military strength-increasing potential to an increasingly powerful, hostile, dictatorial, totalitarian, authoritarian, and militarily expansionist nation like China under the absolute control of the CCP and Xi Jin-Ping in exchange for moderately lower overhead costs for Western private technology corporations. The West, particularly NATO nations, should be rapidly and aggressively building back their industrial manufacturing capacity, domestic energy capacity, and advanced technology and semiconductor manufacturing capacity within their own borders and should never have allowed their private businesses to trade advanced technology with huge military applications and benefits to a hostile foreign adversary nation like China in the first place.

Intel absolutely can compete when they start using EUV and can get down to 7nm. Ryzen is great (I use one), but a lot of the performance advantages for AMD are likely going to evaporate if Intel can get back to within 2nm of them. Remember when AMD was at 10nm and Intel 14nm Intel still was winning on performance metrics. Intel really screwed the pooch going after the holographic whatever shit they thought would beat EUV.

It is mid tier lol. Nvidia always name their GTX/RTX GPUs like this: 30s and 50s series are the low tier, 60s and 70s is the mid tier options, high end would be 80 and Titan (rebranded to 90). A vast majority of the people buying GPUs will buy a 60 or 70 which puts them right in the middle of the curve.

If something works... really really really good... then why not copy it? That seems pretty dumb in my Opinion. Who cares HOW a CPU is made. Internally. What i want is Power. Thats that. It should be cheap. It should be using as less energy as possible. It should be fast. Thats that. I mean i want an Car to be fast and use less Gas and be cheap too. Or not? Why would an Automobile maker suddenly say... nahhhhh... This car maker is already using Engines this way so we dont want to copy them. Lol

No chance. Intel is dead for the next 2 years, then possibly they can start to make a counter to AMD. But arm chips are an existential threat to both AMD and Intel. Look at the M1 and it's future derivatives. Plus many manufacturers pushing new arm platforms, Nvidia included. Intel is dead. RIP. You will not be missed!
